VINEYARD

The vineyard is to the side and rear of the house totalling approximately 2.5 acres with 13 150' x 14' (45.72m x 4.27m) polytunnels, five of which are currently uncovered and one 79' x 14' (24.08m x 4.27m) covered polytunnel.

TIMBER BARN

Beyond the polytunnels is the remainder of the land, forming pasture and woodland. All the eligible land is registered for Single Farm Payments. There is also a useful orchard area made up mostly of apple trees to the rear of the main dwelling.
The polytunnels contain Pinot Noir, Muller Thurgau, Kernling, Ortega and Seyval Blanc vines, with an outside planting of Orion Vines.

The vines are planted on a SSW facing slope in a sandy loam soil over shale.

Currently producing two dry white wines and a dry red. The vineyard has also produced two dessert wines.

The winery has a Premises Licence for off sales all year round, and the owners have opened daily from 11 - 5 from June to September.

THE BUSINESS
The business has been run by the present vendors for over twenty years as a part time business for one partner. Polmassick Vineyard Ltd accounts are available at this office or from Companies House. As this is a retirement sale, the turnover has been declining in recent years but in the years 2006 - 2009 averaged approx £26,000.

Proceed through the village and follow the lane for approximately one mile, dropping down into the village of Polmassick. Here you will find a crossroads, where you should continue straight across, where you start to see signs for the vineyard, which is located approximately 400 metres along this road on your right.
